We are excited to present Edoardo Materassi back to Australia! 

Edoardo has won the hearts of many of our Italian singing holiday group participants over the years and we are thrilled to invite him to Australia so you too can experience singing with the maestro! All events are suitable for anyone who loves to sing, from absolute beginners to stage performers.

THE 2024 SCHEDULE 

Byron Bay

Each day we will get to sing with our principal director Edoardo plus we will have a session with our special guest teacher, Imogen Wolf. 

WHEN 1–3 March, 2024

TIMES Friday 3 – 6 pm, 
Saturday 10:30 –12:30 & 2–5pm
Sunday 11–12:30 & 3 - 5pm and Concert and dinner, 6 – 8:30pm

Full weekend $360 (inc Sunday dinner and gst).

Sydney – Narrabeen

Each day we will get to sing with our principal director Edoardo plus we will have a session with special guest teachers Christina Mimmocchi and Stuart Davis. 

This 4 Day singing event is being held in a hall situated in a natural reserve by the beautifully picturesque Narrabeen Lake (25 Klms. from the centre of Sydney).

During singing breaks you can explore the walking tracks around the lake, picnic areas and a short 10 minute walk to Narrabeen shops and restaurants. If arriving by car, there is plenty of parking or if you take public transport the B-line bus to and from Sydney centre takes approximately 45 minutes.

There are various accommodation options are nearby and AIRBNB have the best options if you will be on foot. Otherwise the Sands Hotel in Narrabeen is short drive.

You have the option to book for 2 days only or to get the most out of this opportunity we highly recommend booking for the full 4 days. We aim to hold a concert in the early evening of that last day (information coming soon).

About Edoardo Materassi

Edoardo Materassi, guitarist, composer, choir director and teacher.Edoardo has an impressive log of concerts both in Italy and abroad.

His compositions have been performed in Italy, France, Germany, Holland and Australia.He has collaborated with musicians and actors such as: Vars Music, Faye Nepon, Luca di Volo, Claudia Bombardella, Annamaria Castelli, Alessandro Lanzoni, Giorgio Guiot, Carlo Pavese, Monica Bauco, Ivano Bini, Zeta Archive, Maurizio Maggiani, Ernesto De Martino Institute, Orchestra AgimusArte, Sunrise Orchestra.

He collaborates as a teacher with the Cantascuola di Torino association. Edoardo teaches harmony, choral exercises, ensemble music and guitar at numerous schools in the province of Florence.

He is artistic director of the School of Music of Calenzano and is a member of the artistic commission of the Cori della Toscana Association. He is passionate about choral singing and directs the choirs: Animae Voces, Mulieris Voces, Sesto in Canto, the choir of the "P. Calamandrei "and the choir of the" Cavalcanti "Inferior Middle Schools of Sesto Fiorentino.

With the choirs Animae Voces and Mulieris Voces he has been awarded at various competitions. He also directs youth choirs "Na' Ara Vocal Ensemble" and "Menura Vocal Ensemble" and often works with the successful childrens' choir Piccolo coro Melograno from Florence. (piccolocoromelograno.it)  

The Create Escape has commissioned Edoardo to co-direct several singing holiday events in Italy with participants from all over Australia and New Zealand to great success.
